Pet Portraits

"I leave you my portrait so that you will have my presence all the days and nights that I am away from you."  Frida Kahlo

From Photo, To Paint, To Mosaic

Mosaic artist, Pip Edwards, has been creating pet portraits for 20 years.  The majority of her subjects are dogs, but cats have also been immortalised as well.

It is a challenging and exacting process as the portrait transforms from photo, to painting, to mosaic. The ceramic tiles are the perfect medium in reflecting life and vibrancy of your pet.

To start the process, a selection of images need to be provided of the subject before the best image is selected. The image will then be painted onto the surface, then approved by the client, before it is then transformed into the mosaic. The process takes around 2 weeks.

The mosaic is then ready to hang for inside or outside.

Cost $600 for head only (40cm x 40cm), $1200 for whole body (approx. 60cm x 50cm)

This is the perfect gift for animal and art lovers.
